BIOGRAPHY
Rebecca Chestnutt was born in Spartanburg, South Carolina and received her Master of Architecture from Virginia Tech in 1981. In 1983 she moved to Berlin and by 1988 Chestnutt started her own firm with Robert Niess, a colleague from Virginia Tech. See also the IAWA Biographical Database.
SCOPE AND CONTENT
The collection includes a copy of the exhibition catalog The History of Air 1988-2000, showing three buildings by Chesnutt and Niess: Luisenbad Library, District Court in Bad Liebenwerda, and Alexanderplatz Station.
PROVENANCE
Rebecca Chestnutt donated the material by way of Milka Bliznokov in the fall of 2001. This collection is part of the International Archive of Women in Architecture (IAWA) housed in the Special Collections, Digital Library and Archives, University Libraries, Virginia Tech.
