BIOGRAPHY
Snezha Todorova Khristova was born on August 25th, 1934 in Sandanski, Bulgaria. Khristova studied architecture at Sofia polytechnic, graduating in 1958. From 1958-89, Khristova worked at the leading design organization Glavproekt, where she was awarded the "Red Banner of Labor" and the order of "Cyril and Methodius."
SCOPE AND CONTENT
The papers consist of drawings for three projects. A set of six drawings and one print of "Khisaria Two" a Sanatorium and spa for government officials located in Khisaria Springs, Bulgaria (1974-1982). A set of 11 drawings of plans, sections and elevations of "Mother and Child" a child delivery clinic, nursery, and rehabilitation center located in the village of Shiroka Luka, Bulgaria (1983-1984). There are three prints of a physiotherapy, rehabilitation and recreation center for the State Council and the Council of Ministers located in Bankia Bulgaria (1984-1986).
PROVENANCE
Snezha Todorova Khristova by way of Milka Bliznakov donated the material in the collection in 2000. This collection is part of the International Archive of Women in Architecture (IAWA) housed in Special Collections, Digital Library and Archives, at the University Libraries of Virginia Tech.
