Donna Dunay announced that this was to be an informal informational meeting to discuss the upcoming annual meeting, the Milka Prize, and the Newsletter.
Ms Dunay reported that invitations were sent to the Board. So far Paul Knox and Evelyn Lang Jacob have declined. Ms Dunay has invited Linda Plaut's trio to perform on Saturday evening and Ms McMillan has reserved rooms for out-of-town guests. The tentative schedule:
| Saturday 18th September: |

| |
Evening get together |
| Sunday 19th September: |

Afternoon lunch (location to be decided) |
| Monday and Tuesday: |

Board Elections: Ms Dunay noted that the terms of Ms. Marshall-Baker, Ms Williams, Ms Wood, and Ms. 'Herbez de la Tour ends this year. The Nominating Committee should contact them as to whether they intend to stand for re-election.
The Milka Prize: This has been promoted off and on campus in many venues. Additional publicity might include advertising it in the student newspaper, offering an open house of the Archive, including it in the CAUS and other university home pages, and designing a poster that includes the Webpage address. Other suggestions included an exhibition at Special Collections to coincide with the open house and the Board meeting.
Manuscript Curator: Ms McMillan reported a good applicant pool for the position. Review begins August 10th.
Newsletter: Ms Feuerstein provided a draft of the newsletter for comments. She reported that Ms Arcenau edited Ms Lang Jacobs article and will submit an invoice for her work. Ms McMillan noted that all but issues 8 and 9 are on line. Ms Feuerstein will ask Betsy about the missing issues as well as the proposed indexing of all the digitized illustrations used in past newsletters.
New Collections: Ms Bliznakov presented the Archive (via Ms McMillan) with the student drawings of Virginia Curry. Ms Feuerstein suggested that the IAWA contact women graduates of CAUS. Ms Dunay reported that the second Ferrari Symposium would take place in November, which will be a good time to invite graduates to deposit their work. All agreed.
Notes respectfully submitted by Marcia Feuerstein, August 10, 1999
