IAWA Executive Board of Advisors

Donna Dunay called the meeting to order at 2:15 PM.

Professor Feuerstein distributed a draft of the Notes from the 14^th Annual Board of Advisors meeting of September 19, 1999. She reported that they are incomplete.

The second annual Milka Bliznakov Prize was discussed. Professor Vernon agreed to rewrite the announcement and to bring the revised draft to the November meeting.

Professor Dunay requested that we prepare an agenda for the current year. She noted that she wants to continue pursuing the prospect of a Director for the IAWA. She mentioned that we should approach Dean Hitchingham about a shared position.

Agenda Items:

• Creation of emeritus certificates for past (or retiring) board members.
• Check mailing list of the newsletter and the 1988 AIA Exhibit for possible nominees for the board.
• Define GTA’s role in the IAWA. Consider her for developing the nominee list.
• Next newsletter.
• Development of letterhead and cards for IAWA.

Professor Feuerstein announced that Gerri Shaad of Rice University has verbally agreed to take the position of Manuscripts Curator in the library.

Professor Vernon mentioned that she was preparing a package to send to a prospective patron of the IAWA. Professor Dunay said that she would make available an article on Milka from a 1985 article in INFORM Magazine. The package would also include an IAWA brochure and two newsletters.
