IAWA Board of Advisors Working Meeting
October 20, 2001
1-5 p.m. at the Milka Bliznakov Residence
Present: Donna Dunay, Marcia Feuerstein, Inge Horton, Brian Katen, Humberto Rodriguez-Camilloni, Brinda Somaya, Joan Wood, Despina Stratigakos, and Dawn Bushnaq, Gail McMillan.
Absent: Solange d'Herbez de la Tour, Wenche Findal, Eileen Hitchingham, Paul Knox, Evelyne Lang Jakob, Gail McMillan, Nobuko Nakahara, Mitzi Vernon, Gerrianne Schaad, Frank Weiner, and Patricia Williams.
The work session began with a request by Inge Horton that we give additional help to the Chair, Marcia Feuerstein.
Center Working Report
Chair, Marcia Feuerstein. then passed out copies of the Center Working Report for review and comments.
Humberto Rodriguez-Camilloni gave a brief history of the documents origination and the opportunity to use it for funding request presentations. Marcia noted that the Report is a multi-purpose document adding this review is an opportunity to consider who we are and what we need as an organization. It is also an opportunity to review funding strategies, prioritize needs, and look to the future.
Marcia asked for written comments by Nov. 15th.
Bliznakov Prize
Marcia noted that we have received 12-15 proposals and passed out copies of the proposals to everyone. It was agreed that our individual selections and comments be sent to the committee by November 15th and the second round selections be notified by November 30th.
Treasurer
Treasurer Humberto Rodriguez-Camilloni reviewed the three IAWA accounts in preparation for tomorrows meeting. Marcia added information about a fourth account into which those funds provided to the IAWA by the College of Architecture are deposited. A discussion ensued concerning the various accounts and the policies for use of the development account in particular. The Addendum to the IAWA By-laws was reviewed and reaffirming it at tomorrow's meeting was discussed.

Despina Stratigakos requested that meeting minutes be e-mailed to the Board.
