Marcia Feuerstein, Chair IAWA Board of Advisors, called the meeting to order at 9:45 AM.

Minutes
1. Executive Meeting 1 Oct 04
The minutes were reviewed and corrections were made following a discussion by the Committee. Chair Feuerstein called for a motion to approve the minutes of 1 October 04 executive meeting with corrections. Donna Dunay so moved, Kay Edge (proxy) seconded and the minutes were accepted with corrections.
2. Annual Meeting: Completion
The completion of the 2004 annual meeting commenced with a review of the minutes of the annual meeting from 5 Sept 2004 in Toulouse, France. Two items from the original agenda were included , minutes were corrected. Donna Dunay moved to close the annual meeting and approve the minutes as corrected. Marcia Feuerstein seconded the motion and the motion was passed. No additional discussion and the minutes of the annual meeting of 2004 were approved with corrections and additions.
3. Inaugural Meeting:
The completion of the 2004 inaugural meeting commenced with a review of the minutes of the inaugural meeting from 5 Sept 2004 in Toulouse, France. No additions to the meeting were noted. Donna Dunay moved to close the inaugural meeting and approve the minutes as corrected. Marcia Feuerstein seconded the motion and the motion was passed.
Reports
1. Milka Bliznakov Prize (MBP)
Donna Dunay reported the results of the MBP #4 and the first stage of the MBP #5. Jurors awarded two commendations for MBP #4. The prize of $1000.00 was not awarded. Regarding MBP #5, of over 30 proposals received, 16 proposals were advanced to the second stage as finalists.
2. By-Laws Update
Discussion related to the structure of the IAWA as it was originally conceived by then Dean Steger and the then dean of the library as well as the way the organization has evolved. Further discussion about by-laws will occur at an executive meeting at the end of February, 2005. The date will be determined by Dean Hitchingham.
3. Archivist's Report
Dean Hitchingham noted that a temporary archivist has been hired until a permanent archivist is in place. Feuerstein asked Dean Hitchingham the possibility of allowing volunteer architects to help with processing. The Dean offered to discuss this further.
Rupp Bequest Update
Chair Feuerstein reported that a letter of clarification from the Executor and Attorney is forthcoming.
New Business
HABS/IAWA program: Chair Feuerstein reported that she met with Paul Dolinskey of HABS (Historic American Building Structures) in October in order to begin a program that identifies buildings and landscapes designed by women in the USA to be included in HABS database. They hope to begin the research to identify women and buildings this summer. They also will forward original documents to the IAWA during the HABS research and documentation.
