Aeronautical engineer. Received BS in mathematics and physics at the University of Richmond (1932). Joined the Langley Aeronautical Laboratory of the National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics (NACA) in 1935; retired from NASA-Langley in 1972 as head of the 16 Foot Transonic Tunnel Branch. Papers consist of project files, reports, and correspondence concerning his work at Langley. Topics include aerodynamic performance of aircraft propellers and manned aircraft; wind tunnel fans, jet noise suppression, and tunnel calibration.
