A graduate of the architectural program at the University of Minnesota, the Currie Papers contain watercolors probably done while she was a student in the 1930s. There is also a scrapbook from a neighborhood beautification project in Chicago in 1966 and the 1995 Valiant Woman Award.

Scrapbook: "Chicago Beautiful and the Near West Side" (1966)
"On June 3 [1966] a few of us residents of Lexington and Flournoy Streets met in the home of Mrs. Virginia Currie to discuss what we could do, in our own modest way, to help rehabilitate our little section of the neighborhood. We might mention that Mrs. Currie is the wife of the dean of the Collect of Art and Architecture of the University of Illinois and a member of "the Chicago Beautiful Committee." ... planned a contest for the most artistically painted garbage cans in this alley."
