                      COMMISSION ON UNDERGRADUATE STUDIES

  1.  CALL TO ORDER AND ANNOUNCEMENTS:

 

      The meeting was called to order at 3:05 pm.  Dr. Hinkle announced that

      three of the five members of the Humanities/Fine Arts Area Committee

      were contacted during the holidays and approved the minor revision to

      the CORE offerings in the Philosophy Department.  The other two members

      will be contacted before the next meeting of the Commission.

 

  2.  The AGENDA was approved as distributed.

 

  3.  The MINUTES of the meeting of November 28, 1988, were approved with the

      following minor corrections:

 

      D. E. Egger gave the report of the Course Criteria Committee.

 

      D. Dunay was recorded as present.

 

  4.  COURSE CRITERIA COMMITTEE REPORT - D. E. Egger

 

      The following courses were submitted for approval:

 

      BION 4124       Laboratory Problems in Biochemistry and Molecular Biol-

                      ogy -- (Revised Course)

 

      FOR 2214        Introductory Forestry & Land Management -- (New Course)

 

      FOR 3215-3216   Forest Measurements -- (New Course)

 

      The department checklist from Communication Studies was submitted for

      approval.

      A motion was made and seconded to approve the following:

      The approval of the books by  Fletcher and Patty, and McGee was contin-

      gent upon the assurance that the materials would be appropriately

      bound.

 

  6.  The meeting adjourned at 3:34 pm.
