  1.  CALL TO ORDER AND ANNOUNCEMENTS:

 

      Prof. Daniel called the meeting to order at 3:00 p.m.  He announced

      that the issuance of Certificates for Double Majors is an agenda item

      at the next University Council meeting on February 1st.  He also asked

      that any agenda items for the Commission be forwarded to himself or

      Wanda Dean as soon as convenient to allow time for placement on the

      agenda.

 

 

  2.  The AGENDA was approved as distributed.

 

 

  3.  The MINUTES of the December 14, 1992 meeting were approved as cor-

      rected.

 

 

  4.  UNIVERSITY CORE COMMITTEE MINUTES - G. BUGH

 

      Dr. Bugh, Chair of the University Core Committee presented the minutes

      of the core committee.  The minutes were APPROVED.

 

 

  5.  COURSE CRITERIA COMMITEE REPORT - B. BROWN

 

      Dr. Brown presented the Janury 18, 1993 report for first reading.

 

      A motion was made and seconded to approve for second reading the Decem-

      ber 14, 1992 report.  The motion CARRIED.

 

      Courses approved Spring 1993:

 

      o   BLST 4704 History of African-American Theatre

 

      o   BLST 4774 Blacks in the Performing Arts

 

      o   EF   1034 C for Engineers

 

      o   FCD  4344 Perspectives on Addiction and Family Systems

 

 

 

  6.  OTHER BUSINESS

 

      The eletronic delivery of minutes and agendas was discussed with the

      majority of the members stating their approval of the format.  It was

      agreed to continue to distribute information electronically and that a

      list of all members userids would be distributed.

 

 

  7.  Meeting adjourned at 3:15 p.m.
