CALL TO ORDER AND ANNOUNCEMENTS: Dr. Brown called the meeting to order at 3:00 p.m. Dr. Spencer an- nounced that Terry Rakes, Department of Management Science, would be substituting for Terry Cobb as representative for the College of Busi- ness through the end of the semester. 2. The AGENDA was approved as distributed. 3. The MINUTES of the September 13, 1993 meeting were approved as distrib- uted. 4. COURSE CRITERIA COMMITEE REPORT - B. HEATH-CAMP Dr. Betty Heath-Camp, Chair of the Course Criteria Committee presented the September 27, 1993 report for first reading. Motion was made and seconded to approve for second reading, the September 13, 1993 report as amended. The motion CARRIED. REVISION OF VPI&SU POLICY AND PROCEDURE 6325 ON LATE DROPS Dr. Eaton stated that questions had been raised concerning the proce- dures followed in permitting late drops. In response, Dr. Leon Geyer drafted the resolution which was presented to the Commission on Gradu- ate Studies. After discussion of several items in the resolution draft, it was decided that under the new committee structure, this is- sue should be addressed by the Committee on Academic Policy. 6. OTHER BUSINESS Dr. Brown noted that Resolutions 92-93B, Report of the Committee on Committees, and 92-93C, Course Proposal Process, are to be presented for second reading and approval at University Council on October 4, 1993. He also stated that the structure of some committees would be altered under the new governance and asked that commission members think about the committee or committees on which they would like to serve. 7.
