  1.1  Article I.  Name and Purpose

 

 

  This representative body shall be known as the Faculty Senate of Virginia

  Polytechnic Institute and State University.

 

  The purpose of the Faculty Senate is to create an effective faculty organ-

  ization which can enter into partnership for shared responsibility and co-

  operative action between the Faculty, Administration, and Students in order

  to promote the general welfare of the University.
