  2.2  II.  Nomination and Election of Senators

 

 

  A.  Election of senators shall be conducted by the Credentials and

      Elections Committee during the winter quarter each year.  Newly elected

      senators shall be observers until the effective date of their term of

      office on the first day of September, but may participate and vote in

      elections that attend the organization of the following year's Senate.

      Outgoing senators may not vote in the organization of the new Senate.

      Senate terms end on the last day of August.

 

  B.  If a college has no formal faculty organization, the Credentials and

      Elections Committee shall ask the dean of the college to call a meeting

      of the faculty to nominate representatives to the Faculty Senate in a

      manner selected by the college faculty.

 

 

  C.  The first election of senators shall be initiated and conducted by a

      Faculty Committee appointed by the University Council
