Tom Brown pointed out that the Alumni Association president is William Moseley now instead of William Latham. Dorm space reservations for graduation had reached 371 rooms and requests were still coming in. The CEC indicated an interest in having a post-commencement buffet listed next year on the order form that goes out for lodging and entertainment. USHER RIBBONS Wide ribbons for ushers' sashes are coming. They were to arrive later in the week. HONOR SASHES Honor sashes are available at the University Bookstore. The Bookstore has a list of students authorized to get them. USHERS Dan Taylor had the names from three colleges. Other college represen- tatives were urged to get all the names in by Monday, April 8. Commence- ment Programs will be delivered to Lane Stadium and re-routed to the Coliseum in case of rain. FLOWERS Shauna Bishop will order the flowers and ferns for the Lane Stadium stage. COLOR GUARD General Musser asked for clarification of some directions. Means will be available to tie the flags in place on the stage if it is windy. Other flags around the stadium will not be placed if the rain schedule is to be followed. Local radio and TV stations will have the announcement by 5:00 a.m. RECESSIONAL OF STUDENTS A student recessional is new this year. The engineer's recessional will take them all the way through the tunnel to their places in Cassell. HANDICAPPED ACCESS Wayne Speer pointed out that wheel chairs go to the East stands and persons having limited walking ability should go to the West stands. GUEST RESERVE SEAT SECTION Stage party guests and other special guests are seated between sections 2 and 4 on the West side. They should meet at 8:30 a.m. in 220 Cassell. GRADUATE COMMENCEMENT A question about the Friday commencement for graduate students was not an- swered. Martha Johnson, who was not present, was said to be the person to ask. (Note: The Friday graduate commencement is a function of the Graduate School.) ALUMNI RECEPTION Tom Brown reported that Alumni Hall has been reserved again this year. The reception has been for the stage party and others. For some reason attend- ance has not been enough to warrant having it. A suggestion to involve the 300 emeritus faculty living in Blacksburg was given to Tom for consider- ation. HONORS RECEPTION Invitations went out to advisors of the students on April 2. The reception is in the CEC on April 18 at 5:30 p.m. Copies of TECH TRIUMPH will be pro- vided for each honors student by the Alumni association. Chair Kennedy thanked the members of the committee and said that he felt that the last two commencements had been good. He has received positive mail concerning the commencements. Kennedy gave special thanks to any mem- bers whose terms on the committee ended with the '90-'91 year. NO FURTHER MEETINGS OF THE COMMENCEMENT COMMITTEE WILL BE HELD THIS SCHOOL YEAR. Adjournment was at 12:38 p.m. Recorded by Martin McMillion College of Education
