Dear Wife
I thought must drop you a line or two it is slim chance for much of a letter to night we are pact and the baggage gone to the Dept and we expect to go in the morning our baggage was marked for Ft. Leavenworth Kansas so I expect we go there I have solde the Baldwin watch for 10 dollars in cash and 4 dollars next pay day I had broke the crystle when it was in my pocket by stopping over so I sold it if I see Burt to morrow I may let him have ten dollars to send to you I am a going to send the trunk home with some things in for Mr. Robberts I have put some rice on coffee you may divide it with Mr. Roberts Folks he will

pay a part of the frait Mr Harper got here this morning he says he has got a daughter at home a week old he seems verry poorly I thought last night if you was here to pack my satchel I sould like it but of griefs you would be a little nearvus if you was here to night for they all seem to be drunck and fighting we are to go from here to Cincinatta on Horse back and then take the cars to St Louis you might direct your letter to St Louis it might follow us if we went on

I wanted to go to Cincinatta so I could get some thing to send home to the children and you to but I couldnt get away I thout Burt and me could get some thing I hope I shall see him to morrow
