![]()
"Hidden by No. 99, a derelict seed and gun powder store, half under-ground Chapter House of St. Mary's Abbey with its groined vaulting," T. E. Kennelly's 1991 Bloomsday Card, was produced in a limited edition of 23 postal cards in celebration of Bloomsday, June 16, the day of Leopold Bloom's odyssey through Dublin in James Joyce's Ulysses.
Transcription:
"Yes sir, Ned Lambert said heartily. We are standing in the historic council chambers of Saint Mary's Abbey where silken Thomas proclaimed himself a rebel in 1534. This is the most historic spot in all Dublin."
