1998 Bloomsday Card
by T. E. Kennelly
"Stage door and manhole, Empire Palace Theatre," T. E. Kennelly's 1998 Bloomsday Card, was produced in a limited edition of 23 postal cards in celebration of Bloomsday, June 16, the day of Leopold Bloom's odyssey through Dublin in James Joyce's Ulysses.
"...Sycamore Street beside the Empire musichall...one of those manholes...and there was the poor devil stuck in it. Down went Tom Rockford with the rope around him. And be damned if he got the rope around the poor devil and the two were hauled up."
