This guide describes faculty manuscript collections in the Special Collections, University Libraries at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, or Virginia Tech. These collections consist primarily of the personal papers of Virginia Tech faculty members. The official papers of university personnel are described in a separate guide to the University Archives.

Entries are arranged alphabetically. Each entry contains biographical information and a description of the materials in the collection. The size of each collection is given in cubic feet ("cu. ft."), with 0.1 being the smallest unit used. Inclusive dates are recorded for each collection.

A manuscript number is given at the end of each entry (e.g. Ms95-002). When requesting material, patrons should refer to this manuscript number and the collection title.

The Special Collections is located on the first floor of Newman Library at Virginia Tech. Researchers interested in obtaining more information about any of the collections described below are invited to inquire in person or to contact:
