Cinema Trivia
Watching the rushes of his Humphrey Bogart gangster movie Marked Woman
(U.S., 1937), producer Hal Wallis objected to the presence of an insignificant and puny-looking
extra among the gangland tough guys. He asked director Lloyd Bacon why he had used an actor
who looked so unlike a mobster. The mild little man was not an actor, Bacon explained. He was a
member of the Lucky Luciano gang who had been cast to add realism.
