Locomotive Images

Y-Class locomotives.
Thanks to Mark Lindsey and Roy Blanchard for identifying these engines as
Y-Class.
Mr. Lindsey commented that this lookes like a photo of "the Roanoke Dead
Line", probably taken around 1958-59. He pointed out that "many of the
engines have the older feedwater heaters on the sides, all have big
tenders and doghouses on top."
Mr. Blanchard thinks that these engines are probably Y3's, numbered in
the 20xx series. He recalls seeing engines like these working the
Lamberts Point coal yard when he was at William and Mary in the late
1950's.
