Welcome Out-of-Town Visitors!

The Special Collections of the University Libraries at Virginia Tech welcomes visitors from around the world. We hope the following will help to make your trip to Blacksburg more productive and enjoyable.

Please let us know in advance of your arrival and subject interest. It may be necessary to bring the materials in from our off-site storage facility. Visitors from out of town often work within a limited time frame. If we know your subject interest in advance, materials can be prepared for your arrival so that you can use your time in Special Collections as productively as possible.

The Special Collections is located on the first floor of the Carol M. Newman Library. Because of limited on-campus parking, it is advisable to get a parking pass at the Visitors Center on the way into campus. Lodging is available on campus at The Inn at Virginia Tech.

The Blacksburg Electronic Village (BEV) has assembled a guide to Blacksburg that includes weather, local restaurants, accommodations, shopping, historical sites, points of interest, and other information about education, business, and life in Blacksburg.
