INTRODUCTIONS
The meeting began with introductions of VHPTF members to new Chair and VIVA Steering Committee Liaison, John Jaffe. Each member described his/her participation in the Virginia Heritage Project. Elsie introduced John and described his background and experiences that would enrich the VHPTF.
VHP FINAL REPORT
Edward gave the final report on the VHP. He updated members on the total number of guides and pages. He further reported the impressive number of visits to the web site monthly. The report can be viewed at: http://lib.virginia.edu/vhp/index.html. Jodi also spoke about the training component and the pedagogical aspects of the training model. Members talked about their experiences with training from coordinators to undergraduate students. The Project was a challenge and a learning experience for everyone.
SOLINET OUTSTANDING LIBRARY PROGRAM AWARD (SOLPA)
Elsie talked to the VHPTF about the VHP nomination for the SOLPA in the area of Preservation and Electronic Information. At the end of March SOLINET announced that the VHP had won the award.
FUTURE PROJECT/DISCUSSION
A roundtable discussion on a future project elicited comments on needs as well as ideas for a digitization project. Some of the needs included upgrading software for all members, having the ability to perform database cleanup locally, and the development of a clip library. One possible digital project is providing full content access to museum collections. The best practices and technology assessment committees will report at the next meeting.

The next VHPTF meeting will be held at 10:30 on May 9, 2003 at the University of Virginia.
