The Department of Housing, Interior Design, and Resource Management's Residential Property Management Program in the College of Human Resources is the only one in U.S. recognized by the National Apartment Association (NAA). Seniors permitted to sit for the NAA Certified Apartment Manager Exam by virtue of having completed the program and an internship.
The Department of Family and Child Development's graduate programs in Marriage and Family Therapy at the Blacksburg campus and at the Northern Virginia Graduate Center in Falls Church are both accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Marriage and Family Therapy Education.
The Department of Housing, Interior Design, and Resource Management's Interior Design Program has been accredited by FIDER, the Foundation for Interior Design Education Research, for more than a decade. According to the latest figures, the program is one of the fewer than 100 undergraduate programs - out of nearly 520 interior design programs identified in the United States and Canada - to have FIDER accreditation.
The Department of Hospitality and Tourism Management is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Programs in Hospitality Administration.
