Interesting Facts (1995)
The Department of Family and Child Development's Child Development Laboratories are celebrating their 55th anniversary this year (1995). One of the first to receive National Association for the Education of Young Children accreditation in 1986, it has been re-accredited every three years since then.
Research conducted by extension and academic faculty members in the College of Human Resources has helped the Virginia Legislature draft bills and enact laws to improve the lives of Virginians--including the phosphate detergent ban that is improving surface and ground water quality and the restroom parity law for, which mandates the number of men's and women's
restroom facilities to be constructed in new public buildings.
