	At approximately 6 a.m. on May 13, Dr. William J. McKeefery, executive vice-president, attempted to speak to the students outside Williams and the protesters inside. The crowd began chanting, and he was unable to negotiate.
	After Dr. McKeefery's failure to get the students out peacefully, the State police removed a door and began to remove the students inside forcably.
	The first few students were dragged or carried out...
	...but most went peacefully after they realized they could not stop the removal.
