At approximately 6 a.m. on May 13, Dr. William J. McKeefery, executive vice-president, attempted to speak to the students outside Williams and the protesters inside. The crowd began chanting, and he was unable to negotiate. |
After Dr. McKeefery's failure to get the students out peacefully, the State
police removed a door and began to remove the students inside forcably. |
The first few students were dragged or carried out... |
...but most went peacefully after they realized they could not stop the
removal. |
