Three friends are beating eggs — from I've Been Working in the Kitchen (Nov. 1985), Dr. Ann Hertzler Collection, Ms 2001-004.

Dr. Ann Hertzler (1935-2014) was Professor of Human Nutrition, Foods and Exercise at Virginia Tech from 1980-2001. This manuscript collection includes papers, photographs, musical scripts, artifacts, and display materials largely about children's nutrition.

Below is a preliminary inventory from the time of the original donation in 2001. Since then, Special Collections has received several additional donations. A finding aid for the collection is available online. As of March 2014, this finding aid includes all but the most recent donation.

In 2005, Prof. Emerita Hertzler established the Ann Hertzler Children's Cookbook and Nutrition Literature Collection. Her initial donation of publications dating from 1910 has grown more than 400 publications and is available along with the History of Food & Drink Collection through Addison, the library's online catalog.
