Visiting the IAWA

The International Archive of Women in Architecture (IAWA) is located in Newman Library on the campus of Virginia Tech. To access the collections in person, visit Special Collections on the first floor of Newman Library during its operating hours (Mon - Fri, 8am-5pm and by special appointment).

Special Collections and University Archives is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., except when Virginia Tech or the University Libraries are closed. Appointments are encouraged, but not required.

Location

Virginia Tech is located in Blacksburg, Virginia, about 38 miles southwest of Roanoke. Special Collections is located on the first floor of the Carol M. Newman Library.

Parking

There are a number of options for out-of-town visitors: Visitor Parking. A visitor's parking pass and directions to parking on campus can be obtained from Parking Services. Most campus parking lots also use an app called ParkMobile. The closest campus parking to Newman Library is on Alumni Mall, in Squires Student Center parking lot, or on the east end of the Drillfield.

There is also metered street parking and several town lots within about 10-15 walking distance of Newman Library (managed by the Town of Blacksburg). See the Blacksburg Parking website for more information.
